Weekly Program
by Group Members
At 1.30 pm the Convenors invites everyone to take a seat. He then makes any announcements.
We watch a one-hour woodturning demonstration by a member of the group which is also displayed on our large TV screens on the wall. You can either watch the turner at the lathe or the TV screens for a better close-up view.
We have a show and tell table display of items made recently by members. After the demo, the turners of the items are invited to come up to the microphone and talk about the item they have turned, issues, wood, finishes, and other comments.
The Convenor then invites all members to enjoy and coffee/tea and biscuit.
Competition
The fifth Tuesday
The fifth Tuesday when a month has five Tuesdays, is our
Tim Tam Hands on Competition.
The group has five lathes they are all set up.
The competition manager sets the item to be turned, forms five teams of three turners and sets the clock
Each turner has 20 minutes to do their section of the competition item.
The items are then judged by three senior members and the winning team collects the Tim Tams. A lot of fun.

General Meeting
& Presentations
Periodically we have a general meeting often followed by a general interest talk or activity. After most meetings we have a “Show and Tell’ where members bring in an item they have turned at home.
