Demo sml

Demonstrations

by Group Members

Three times a month we have demonstrations from one of our members who will introduce a different item or technique often with a challenge for others to have a ‘go’ at home.

Hands on sml

Hands on

Continuous skills development

Once a month is a “Hands-on” day where all the lathes are set up for members to turn an item.  Some of our more experienced turners mentor our newer turners while others observe.

Training sml

Training

Beginner Training Sessions

We offer regular training sessions for new members.  The sessions consist of eight modules that cover the basics of woodturning from safety through to ‘finishing’.  The classes are held on Wednesday evenings.

General Meeting

& Presentations

Periodically we have a general meeting often followed by a general interest talk or activity.  After most meetings we have a “Show and Tell’ where members bring in an item they have turned at home.

Call in for cup of tea and biscuits

You might see something you’d like to make.
